Jantar Mantar (TIME ZONE)



Jantar Mantar (Jantar = "Machine/Instrument",  Mantar = "calculation") monument of Jaipur, Rajasthan , INDIA.

 Jantar Mantar is a collection of nineteen architectural astronomical instruments.
Jantar Mantar Jaipur observatory was constructed by Maharja Sawai Jai Singh II the founder of Jaipur.

Jantar Mantar is the world's largest stone sundial(Dhoop Ghari).

Jantar Mantar is working with 19 yantra's(Machine/Instruments) some of these are:

1.  Chakra Yantra ( giving the declination of the Sun at four specified times of the day.)
2.  Dakshin Bhitti Yantra (measures meridian, altitude and zenith distances of celestial bodies)
3.  Vrihat Samrat Yantra (world's largest gnomon sundial, measures time in intervals of 2 seconds using shadow cast from the sunlight).


4.  Laghu Samrat Yantra
